GAMBLOR – ROUND FOURTEEN

Posted on Posted in Gamblor

It would be fair to say that the bye rounds have not treated GAMBLOR well. A complete strip on the weekend but again, serves him right for backing poor teams (Carlton anyone…). In say that we got very unlucky with our wet weather call for Adelaide on Thursday night. It absolutely poured down 45 minutes before the game but the Adelaide Oval dried up a treat and a shoot-out ensued. Tha rain come an hour later we could have been in the money but that is the risk you take I suppose.

GAMBLOR needs to get back on track…and quickly!

West Coast vs Essendon

Perth Stadium

Thursday 8.10pm EST

Eagles had their chances I felt against Sydney but poor ball us and decision making heading inside 50 cost them dearly. Darling is clearly a loss and does make them a touch one dimensional going forward but all other facets of their game seems to be going well. Fully expect them to bounce back against a Bombers side that have been remarkable in their inconsistency throughout 2018. Forecast is for a little rain so may be a scrappy one but fully expect the home team to get the job done. Bookies look to have this about right

Port Adelaide vs Melbourne

Adelaide Oval

Friday 7.50pm EST

Really looking forward to this one. Two teams that have teased us throughout 2018 into thinking they are the real deal then when the real crunch has come, they have been caught short. The Power look to be really hitting their straps with Rockliff getting better every week and the move of Wingard to a permanent midfielder paying dividends. This leaves Gray deep forward where he does his best work. The Dees have one slip up against an up and about Pies line up and all of sudden the footy world have lost the love for Melbourne.  Reckon the Dees are the #value in a close one.

Melbourne by 7 points (89-82)

Melbourne at the line (+10.5) @ $1.91

Melbourne 1-24 @ $3.25

Either team by < 15.5 @ $2.55 (slight hedge here)

Hawthorn vs Gold Coast

York Park, Launceston

Saturday 1.45pm EST

Hawks were clinical against a cooked Crows outfit on Saturday night (not that anyone watched…#Socceroos) and have a very nice run of fixtures ahead of them starting with the Suns in Tassie. Suns are awful and apparently only play 3 quarters. Weather looks good (for Tassie) so this could get very ugly very quickly.

Hawthorn by 69 points (111-42)

Hawthorn at the line (-48.5) @ $1.91 (Loathe to back teams with large lines but this is an exception)

Hawthorn by 60+ $2.50

Brisbane vs GWS

GABBA

Saturday 4.35pm EST

Giants could be back and GAMBLOR believes they will be a profitbale way of punting in the 2nd half of 2018. This should start here against Brisbane. I know they only beat GC last start but the return to form of Kelly & Cameron in patricular has me thinking they will get better as the year goes on. The loss of Lobb isn’t ideal but it’s not like they are hugely reliant on him. Brisbane will struggle as the season goes on as the kids get tired. Again, weather looks good so what we are assured of is a high scoring clash with these two I reckon.

GWs by 47 points (119-72)

Total Score OVER 182.5 @ $1.91

GWS at the line (-25.5) @ $1.91

GWS by 40+ @ $3.00

Western Bulldogs vs North Melbourne

Docklands

Saturday 7.25pm EST

GAMBLOR is still amazed about the 2018 form of North Melbourne. Between you and me, I reckon North Melbourne are amazed with North Melbourne’s form. Meanwhile, the Doggies were blessed with the awful output of Carlton so they avoid another week of media criticism for being very very ordinary indeed. North wins this and wins pretty confortbaly but not a game GAMBLOR is overly keen to get involved in.

North Melbourne by 29 points (97-68)

Total Score UNDER 171.5 @ $1.19 if you must…

Collingwood vs Carlton

MCG

Sunday 3.20pm EST

Fair to say we got the Blues wrong last week! YUCK! That first half was as bad as I’ve seen from any team…ever. Hardly a ringing endorsement for them running into an on-fire Maggies outfit. Pies will win and win well but for some reason I am not as keen to get involved in this game as I am in other one-sided encounters this round. Blues are better at the MCG and have bounced back well from bad defeats previous (they’ve had more practice than most).

Collingwood by 37 points (101-64)

Collingwood by 1-39 @ $2.75 and hope that somehow Carlton make this boring and low scoring… Only betting if you have to.
