GAMBLOR – ROUND THIRTEEN

Posted on Posted in Gamblor

Fair to say GAMBLOR dropped the ball last week and for that he apologises. A dead set Barry Croker and the short turn around this week has up backing up nice and quickly so hopefully we can make amends and get back to winning ways.

Only 6 games and a few interesting ones among them so let’s have a gander….

Port Adelaide vs Western Bulldogs

Adelaide Oval

Thursday 7.50pm EST

Thursday night will be a wet & messy one and this will suit Port just fine. They are up and about after knocking off the Tigers and cannot see the Doggies holding too many fears for them. Won’t be betting too big as Port have more than a touch of Jekkyl & Hyde about them but they’ll win this handy enough. No value in the market though with the wet weather about, other than….

Port by 44 points (91-47)

Total Score UNDER 158.5 @ $1.91

Sydney vs West Coast

SCG

Friday 7.50pm EST

Now this promises to be a ripper. Two in form sides running into each other here. Swans were great on the weekend but it was against St Kilda so the form line doesn’t exactly hold up. The loss of Darling for WCE could be a deal breaker in such a match up but fresh off the week off will be setting themselves for this. Just think the Swans mids in the confines of the SCG will get a hold of this one and do enough to get them over the line.

Sydney by 22 points (98-70)

Sydney 1-39 @ $2 looks a safe play

Sydney at the line (-13.5) @ $1.95 also looks a covering bet if the Swan really run away with it

Carlton vs Fremantle

Docklands

Saturday 1.45pm EST

One of GAMBLOR’s big rules is not to bet big into a game with two poor sides but I am irrationally keen on Carlton here. Freo beating the Crows on the weekend only serves to ensure we get a better price. Docker have been disgusting away from home and with an especially young team currently going around, I cannot see that changing. The Blues aren’t great, but at $2.60 are worth a crack. Recommend you get on now as that price will only shorten in my humble. Especially if Sandi isn’t selected which is a possibility…

Carlton by 17 points (89-72)

Carlton H2H @ $ 2.60

Carlton at the line (+7.5) @ $1.95

Carlton by >15.5 @ $4.15 (Value)

Gold Coast vs St Kilda

Cararra

Saturday 4.35pm EST

Wow Wee! What a matchup this is!!! A collective record of 2-1-20 from 23 games in 2018 gives you an idea as to just how awful this will be. No idea how you bet into this game. St Kilda are favourites as a result of being not as crap as Gold Coast for longer periods. These type games have a habit of being a shootout as both teams just go for it and hope for the best  but the 2nd half under lights in Gold Coast can be slippery, messy affairs not matter how nice the weather actually is. If you are betting here, all the hairy chest to you…

St Kilda by 21 points (102-81)

No Bet Whatsoever

Hawthorn vs Adelaide

MCG

Saturday 7.20pm EST

Another old fashioned 8 pointer here with the loser of this one pushing stuff up hill to make the September action. Hawthorn fell over the line against Port before the bye and that form has held up okay while the Crows I reckon were guilty of chronically under rating their opponents on the weekend and got caught with their pants down. The likely return of Laird (under rated just how important he is) sees me leaning the Crows way in a nail biter.

Adelaide by 5 points (88-83)

Adelaide H2H @ $2.25. Nice price in a  50/50 game

Geelong vs Richmond

MCG

Sunday 3.20pm EST

We finish off with what looks on face value to be one of the H&A games of the year between two top four aspirants. As they have shown in previous years, Geelong are H&A superstars and in spite of injuries to key personnel (S Selwood, Taylor, Henderson, Menzel etc..) keeping finding a way to get it done. If Dangerfield or J Selwood don’t get you, GAJ can and he has the last fortnight bring back memories of when he had a little hair on that head of his a few years back. And $2.60 for them against anybody seems an attractive price. But we can’t forget that the Tigers haven’t lost at the MCG since the 1982 Grand Final and are next to impossible to beat there. Only a very small play here as I’m hoping we’ve made our money by this stage of the weekend, and as I said last week I’d never bet against Richmond ever again but, GAMBLOR can’t turn down value….

Geelong by 7 points (92-85)

Geelong H2H @ $2.60 #value

Geelong at the line (+8.5) @ $1.91
