Another weekend down, another fill up for followers of GAMBLOR. But with that being said it could have been a record breaking week with Brisbane & West Coast both winning (great news as neither were favourites) by 40+ (not great news if you got greedy like GAMBLOR did and took the extra value with the 1-39 bet as opposed to H2H). Another valuable lesson learned. If you have an edge or a feeling that an underdog will salute, don’t get too clever with exotic margin bets as your main play, ensure you at least have the H2H for a winning result. Hopefully you did with WCE & particular Brisbane who you could have easily got $3+ H2H about them during the week.
As mentioned on the pod, GAMBLOR had a massive crack at the UNDER 166.5 total score Adel v WB @ $1.90 when he saw the torrential rain hit. Didn’t have time post it but a great result and never in doubt at any stage.
Also we saluted with our 5 leg multi which never looked in doubt @ $7. Super result!!!
Round 10 sees only 8 games to invest in but also some pretty solid opportunities…
Collingwood vs Western Bulldogs
Friday 7.50pm EST
This is a game that doesn’t appeal in any way, shape or form. Pies did what they had to against the Saints while the Doggies were pretty meek against the Crows in the muck and the mire of Adelaide Oval on Friday night. Much like my comments about the Pies last week, they will probably win but gee whiz they are no value.
Collingwood by 9 points (87-78)
WB at the line (+17.5). Just have a funny feeling….
Richmond vs St Kilda
Saturday 1.45pm EST
Richmond you’d think will be keen to rebound from a tough trip to Perth in which more than a few cracks started to appear. Fortunately for them they run into a Saints team who wouldn’t win an arm wrestle against Jack Newton at the moment. But in saying that Carl & Ess have responded to poor form and media criticism with wins in the last fortnight, but I won’t be betting on it happening.
Richmond by 37 points (102-65)
Richmond 1-39 @ $2.45 and hope the Saints can stay competitive.
Brisbane vs Sydney
Saturday 4.35pm EST
How about those Lions! GAMBLOR did think they would knock off the Hawks at a good price but gee whiz to win by 40+ just broke my heart. They were due a win at home and it reeked of being “right place right time”. The Swans are a different kettle of fish and they are ticking along nicely enough. Weren’t really tested by Freo on the weekend and Buddy & Hanners will be better for the run. Will be staggered of Lloyd & McVeigh get us much time and space across half back this week though. I can’t tip the Lions but it will be closer for longer than most think. Swans are not the team of a few years ago so wouldn’t want to take their foot of the gas here…
Sydney by 22 points (107-85)
Sydney 1-39 @ $2.20
Geelong vs Carlton
Saturday 7.25pm EST
Ess beat Geelong last week. Carl beat Ess the week before = Carl beat Geelong this week. Yeah? Both sides are coming off awful performances to varying degrees on the weekend. Expecting Cats to bounce back here and win well but just hoping by not too much as I am sick of reading about Carlton in the paper. GAMBLOR is not a massive fan of Geelong but can’t really entertain the Blues after last week.
Geelong by 49 points (109-60)
Harvey Norman. No Interest.
GWS vs Essendon
Saturday 7.25pm EST
This is far and away the toughest game and what GAMBLOR is finding pretty tough round. Who saw that coming from Essendon last weekend? Gee whiz! If you anticipate that the Bombers can duplicate that effort, you’d have them as huge chance against the struggling Giants. BUT….how can you trust them. The automatic move her is to defer to GWS at home but GAMBLOR wants no part of this one.
GWS by 19 (105-86)
Total Score OVER 167.5 if you just HAVE to bet
Hawthorn vs West Coast
Sunday 1.10pm EST
Hawks were poor against a Brisbane side that you sensed had set themselves for that one. You would expect them to bounce back but I dare anyone to bet against the Eagles. With the wonders of hindsight, $2.10 early last week was delightful. But enough about past glories. Was hoping for about $3 on Hawthorn here but the WCE travelling thing has ensured that they are significantly shorter. Hard to bet against WCE but again, not too keen to get involved here.
WCE by 11 points (97-86)
WCE 1-39 @ $2.15 if you must.
Melbourne vs Adelaide
Treager Park, Darwin
Sunday 3.20pm EST
At last they are playing a game in Darwin during the day as the night games have proven to be a slippery big mess for the most part. Dees are on fire and I hope you took some of the $15-$17 on offer for the flag last week because I reckon you won’t see those figures again all year. I know they only beat the Blues but they are flying. Crows showed signs of life in the wet against a S T Ruggling Bulldogs team on Friday night but are still missing a lot of key cattle. You can cover that at home against a bottom 6 side. Bit tougher here. Can’t believe the bookies have this a 50/50 contest. Maybe they know something I don’t. Normally they do…
Melbourne by 17 points (103-86)
Melbourne at the line (-2.5) @ $2…watch them win by 1 or 2 now…
Melbourne 1-39 @ $2.55
Fremantle vs North Melbourne
Sunday 4.40pm EST
And here is another tricky affair to finish off a weekend that to be honest, I am very nervous about getting too involved in (just don’t want to give my money from the last two weeks). Freo were predictably awful on the road but has been more than competitive at Perth Stadium this year. North have been chronically under-rated throughout 2017 and really should start favourites here…..but…..the Kangas are due a bad one and Freo really need a win. Was hoping for a good price for the Dockers but they are FAVOURITES! That’s just odd! You have the best defence in the league vs Freo who don’t exactly dazzle inside F50 and the weather looks bleak. Don’t miss this!!! *insert sarcasm here*
Fremantle by 11 points (79-67)
Total Score UNDER 159.5 @ $1.90
Freo vs Nth – Total Score UNDER 159.5 @ $1.90
Melbourne by 2.5+ @ $2
Western Bulldogs H2H @ $2.95
WB (+17.5) / Rich > 15.5 / Melb / Fre v Nth UNDER 159.5 @ $7.85
And don’t forget to donate GAMBLOR’s mate Sully with his Charity Run on Friday. He is pushing through his “handstring awareness” for a very good cause. Get around him!!!
