GAMBLOR – ROUND EIGHT

Posted on Posted in Gamblor

Hawthorn vs Sydney

MCG

Friday 7.50pm ETS

Horrible night in Melbourne. Expect a low scoring scrap. Sydney’s harder bodies in the middle to prevail in a close one.

Sydney by 8 points (67-59)

Sydney 1-39 @ $2.90 seems a great price. Can see anyone winning by 40+ and I reckon it’s close to a 50/50 game…

GWS vs WCE

Spotless Stadium

Saturday 1.45PM

GWS on the road sans Nic Nat will be a big test for this WCE side who are flying at the moment. Meanwhile, the more fancied Giants have been awful (even when they win) and GAMBLOR is now convinced that their coach is no good. With that being said, the return of Lobb & Cameron adds some badly needed structure to their line up and the club and the talents on field should be enough to get the chocolates.

GWS by 22 points (98-76)

Giants 1-39 @ $2 is no value but the way to go here

Carlton vs Essendon

MCG

Saturday 2.10pm EST

This promises to be a truly awful game of footy between two ordinary sides in ordinary conditions. If the Blues are ever going to win a game, surely this is it…but I recall saying that when Carlton played North a month ago and never ever looked like it. Bombers might get to a silly price here. I wouldn’t take $1.35 Essendon arriving at the right ground let alone winning an AFL game. Leave me out

Essendon by 8 points (79-71)

Carlton at the line (+24.5) if you must

Gold Coast vs Melbourne

GABBA

Saturday 4.35pm EST

The Suns footy road trip gets as close to home as it’s been all year with the GABBA the venue for this “home game” against the Dees. Suns were gallant last week albeit against a truly gross Bulldogs line up. The Dees are going along very nicely just quietly (and still a sneaky bet at the big price for the flag just quietly). Starting to get some stability in their line up. Key players (Viney aside) are up and going and playing some pretty good footy. Should be way too good here you’d think…

Melbourne by 37 points (106-71)

Melbourne > 25.5 @ $2.10

Melbourne at the line (-21.5) @ $1.91

Port Adelaide vs Adelaide

Adelaide Oval

Saturday 5.10pm EST

I can say with some authority I have absolutely no idea about this game. Port will be aided by the return of Powell-Pepper, Wingard & Rockliff and the 2nd up return of Ryder who is crucial to their structure but were SO ordinary last week. Crows continue to be without Sloane & B Crouch but that win in Sydney a few weeks ago has them back on track. Although all they have beaten since is GC & Carl. Port are the value but they are so up and down…

Port by 7 points (95-88)

Total Score ABOVE 170.5 @ $1.91

Western Bulldogs vs Brisbane

Docklands

Saturday 7.25pm EST

Disgusting game between two truly awful line ups. But we can make money I reckon. Smells like a shoot out under the roof here…. Remember in 2017 we made a lot of money from backing the Total Score OVER in Brisbane games. Yes, they were mainly at the GABBA but they last week showed that Brissy are back to their gun-ho attacking game style which allow them to score…but leak like a sieve.

WB by 29 points (107-78)

Total Score OVER 171.5

Fremantle vs St Kilda

Perth Stadium

Saturday 8.10pm EST

Fremantle are a completely different side at home to on the road and I expect them to take care of a St Kilda side who seemingly just have no idea. Again, don’t really rate their coach. I do keep waiting for them to turn it around but not sure it will start here… Won’t be investing myself here…

Fremantle by 31 points (95-64)

Fremantle 1-39 @ $ 1.95 if you must but zero value

North Melbourne vs Richmond

Docklands

Sunday 1.10pm EST

The interesting thing about this matchup is that it is at Docklands, the first for the year for the seemingly unbeatable Tigers which adds an x factor. Not sure how their game plan will work there as opposed to MCG etc… Fair chance it will work just fine but stranger things have happened. To say I’m loathe to bet against Richmond is understatement of the year but North could prove most competitive here…until the last quarter when Richmond go into overdrive.

Richmond by 33 points (98-65)

Richmond 1-39 @ $2 and hope like hell that North can show some fight late

Collingwood vs Geelong

MCG

Sunday 4.40pm EST

Reckon the Cats, being one of the great H&A team of the modern era and the return of Ablett & Taylor should be too good for the Pies who are going great. In saying that the performance against GWs was grossly overplayed. Pies are due a down one.

Geelong by 13 points (94-81)

Geelong 1-39 @ $2.15
