GAMBLOR – ROUND 7

Posted on Posted in Gamblor

It would be fair to say that gambling on AFL in 2018 has been thrown into the “Too Hard Basket” . We can’t get near it to be brutally honest although I can’t help but feel the early injury to Michael Walters cost us in the Derby. And at ¾ time we were on pretty good term with our Collingwood at the line bet. But alas neither collected and we are in desperate need of the good times that were only last season yet feel like sooooo long ago.

Geelong vs GWS

Kardinia Park

Friday 7.50pm EST

Injury list is seriously starting to bite at GWS with Cameron, Langdon & Lids added to Lobb, Greene, Kelly etc… and the Giants just don’t have the depth they used to so the bottom 6 in their line-up are kids and a big reason as to why they have flattered to deceive so far in 2018. Cats were solid for 3 quarters before stopping completely against Sydney, a team that do have a great record at the ground. Can see them making amends here and more to the point, just can’t see them dropping consecutive games at the Cattery

Geelong by 17 points (89-62)

Geelong 1-39 @ $2.05

Geelong 1-24 @ $2.95 for a touch more value

Western Bulldogs vs Gold Coast

Ballarat

Saturday 1.45pm EST

This game looks truly awful on paper and the news that Tom Lynch & Stephen May will be missing makes it even worse. Dogs were slightly less garbage than Carlton last Friday night and the Suns seemingly never ending road show of away games seems to be taking its toll. Doggies should win well but I want nothing to do with this game.

Bulldogs by 37 points (101-64)

No Bet

Essendon vs Hawthorn

MCG

Saturday 2.10pm EST

Essendon have been poor and have copped some flack in the media during the week. If the 2018 tradition continues, the Bombers will fly out of the blocks and play brilliantly and win well to shut up the critics and while that could easily happen, I’ve seen nothing that suggest that will occur. Hawks good down in Tassie last weekend but it seems as though they didn’t beat much. Wouldn’t mind a flutter at the Bombers but are no value for a team that are performing so poorly.

Essendon by 7 points (91-84)

Ess 1-39 @ $2.65

West Coast vs Port Adelaide

Perth Stadium

Saturday 4.35pm EST

No team has cost GAMBLOR more coin in 2018 than the Eagles. 5-1 and they are off to a flyer. It makes such a difference when you have your best players fit and firing. Hurn, Yeo, McGovern, Darling etc.. are killing it. Port Adelaide meanwhile kind of got back on track with a pretty soft win in Melbourne against North. The concern is the injury to Wingard. Would be very confident on Port if it wasn’t for that. Ryder rumoured to be back too but these teams traditionally have close match ups and think this will be no exception.

Port by 4 points (95-91)

Total Score OVER 177.5

Sydney vs North Melbourne

SCG

Saturday 7.25pm EST

Swans continue the tradition of responding to any rumours of their demise with a massive last term in Geelong. Still no Buddy & Hanners this week by the sounds of things but they should still have enough for a North team whose bubble seems to be bursting. A fine, clear night could mean the return of some Stewy Dew which will make life a touch slippery but Swans have all the aces here.

Sydney by 22 points (92-70)

Sydney by > 15+

Adelaide vs Carlton

Adelaide Oval

Saturday 7.40pm EST

Crows by heaps. Not going to spend too much time on this. Blues are S T Ruggling and Crows going about their business.

Adelaide by 68 (117-49)

Adelaide at the line (-54.5) @ $1.91 if you must

Richmond vs Fremantle

MCG

Sunday 1.10pm EST

How on Earth can you bet against Richmond in this form. They are full of belief and a work ethic that is second to none. Against a young Freo side who hasve proven to be suceptable on the road, I can’t see anything changing here.

Richmond by 29 points (94-65)

Total Score UNDER 169.5

Richmond by 1-39 @ $2.25 and hope Freo can hang on….

St Kilda vs Melbourne

Docklands

Sunday @ 3.20pm EST

Melbourne won the battle of the underperforming teams last weekend and run into another underperforming team in St Kilda who if they kicked straight, could have made a game of it against Hawthorn yet got pumped. Work that out. Dees were good in the 2nd half last weekend and GAMBLOR is a big believer that the way a team finish a game the take into the next one. If that holds up Melbourne win well and St Kilda kick 3-34.

Melbourne by 11 points (94-83)

Melbourne 1-39 @ $2.05

St Kilda at the line (+20.5)

Brisbane vs Collingwood

GABBA

Sunday 4.40pm EST

I never seen a team more credit for completely stopping in the last term and being beaten by 8 goals more than the Pies this week. Brisbane are gross but do pull out the odd effort at home. Any danger of Dane Zorko doing something…anything… Lions will be in this for a while but pies will run over the top late and blow out the margin.

Collingwood by 33 points (109-76)

Total Score OVER 180.5 @ $1.91

Collingwood 1-39 @ $2

Best Bet

Geelong 1-39 @ $2.00

WCE vs Port – Total Score OVER 177.5

Bris v Coll – Total Score OVER 180.5

Best Roughie

Essendon 1-39 @ $2.65
